2010 Annual General Meeting News + Golf Tournament Info

It was an expensive year for the Battlefords North Stars.

The bottom line is that the cost of icing a Junior A hockey team is an expensive endeavor, and had it not been for a two-round playoff run, the Stars financial fortunes could have been a lot different.

This season the Stars technically lost just over $15,000, but thankfully the team had equity from previous years and is technically 'in the black' financially.

In addition to the release of the team's finances, the Board of Directors recapped some of the highlights of the season and then an election was held to fill seven vacant Board of Director positions.

Ray Adelman was elected Board President for a second consecutive season, and Darren Huxley will once again serve as first Vice-President. All other Board of Director's decision will be announced on the Team's website within the next few days.

Right now the Star's need your help. This coming weekend is the Annual Golf Scramble and there are still spots available. You don't need to have a full-team in order to sign up. You can pay $75 for an individual spot in the tournament and you will be paired with three fellow Star's supporters and a player.

All proceeds from this event go towards to organization. The Golf Tournament is my favourite fundraiser of the year, and it's always a great opportunity for fans to interact with former and current players and the coaching staff. There are great prizes available, and the meal is always a sight to behold.

If you want to golf next Saturday, call 445-7827. I promise you that you won't regret it.

Season Tickets are also available through the North Star's office.
