Pearson Gives Hildebrand Some Good News.

If all goes according to plan, Graham Hildebrand will be the number one goaltender for the Battlefords North Stars in 2011-2012.

24-hours after the Stars acquired goaltender Blake Voth from the Vernon Vipers, Ken Pearson made his stance clear on CJNB/CJNS radio this afternoon.

"Graham Hildebrand is going to be our number one goaltender, and Blake is probably going to be moved so we can strengthen our club in other areas," said Pearson earlier today. "I've talked to Blake, and he understands what we're trying to do, and he's going to sit patiently to see what happens as things play out over the summer months and into the fall."

Pearson added, "With Blake being a Saskatchewan boy, going into his 20-year-old season. We thought that maybe he'd be looking to come back to Saskatchewan to play. We felt we had a better chance moving him in Saskatchewan. That's part of our reasoning for going about things the way that we did."

Graham Hildebrand will be a guest on Monday's edition of the CO-OP Leisure Time Sports Fix.

If the Stars trade Voth to the Broncos it will come back to bite them.
This isn't a daycare let Hildebrand and Voth compete for the starter spot. Giving Hildebrand the starting spot before the season starts while it is all warm and fuzzy won't make the Stars a better team.

Pearson is promising Hildebrand the starting spot for now, he has made promises to other players before and didn't keep them so I wouldn't get too worked up over this.

Which players? Do you think Pearson is the only coach in history to do this? hahah

How about the days of the players doing something for the team AND THEN being rewarded??

anonymous 4, think about what you just said , "players doing something for the team AND THEN being rewarded??"..... hildy has spent 3 years as a back up, at many points where he was the better goalie too. If you dont consider that doing "something for the team", then your lost

The one concern I have about Hildy is his knee. The last 2 seasons hes had to miss time because of it. Can we afford to lose our #1 goalie for any length of time due to an injury???

The only reason Voth wouldn't be here is if he won't report and wants to be traded. No team can go with just one goalie. So whats it going to be?

Anonymous 3, Nope, but do you think there are coaches who don't do that? YEP!

Nothing solid as of yet. All I know is that Ken has been busy, and there has been plenty of 'tire-kicking.'
