Wow, Congrats Woody... Hopefully we see him in a North Stars uniform again... Hes a great young man with great hockey sense.. All the best in South Carolina Woody...
Isn't that where his brother is playing?
Yes it is indeed.
Woody played his first professional game tonight... Way to go Woody..
If he is playing pro does that mean he can no longer play junior A?
Anonymous 5:Nope that does not mean he can no longer play junior A... He can play Junior A if he gets cuts... A few years ago we had Jason Goulet who played pro and came here.. Robin Richards as well played pro as well... Its a rarity that a 19 year old Junior A player would play pro... Its a huge honor for Woody. If he makes it there next year congrats to him, if he doesnt and he comes back it was a great experience for him..
Thanks to Anonymous #6 for clarifying the Junior A - Pro question. Very interesting. One more question - how does it impact a player's ability to get an NCAA scholarship?
I believe he played in the whl which would mean he does not qualify for ncaa. For CIS or ACAC he has to wait a year from playing pro and looses 1 year of his elegibilty
The last poster is right... He couldnt of gotten an NCAA scholarship because he has played in the WHL... Yes he has to wait a year now if he wants to play CIS or ACAC hockey.. I'm proud of Woody...
Wonder who did Woodys bio on Greenville website. Said he Led Battlefords defensemen in points in each of the last two seasons. I believe that is incorrect. Shouldn't take credit for something that you did not achieve.
