Stars - Mustangs Preview (Game Three)

Who's Up Front:

The best forward for Melfort in Game Two was Jesse Mireau. Mireau tied the game on a power-play and also had a penalty-shot opportunity. Mireau has shown great puck smarts and vision through the first two games of the series. Mireau's strong play through the first two games will need to rub off on Gary Childerhose and Todd Chinova who have struggled offensively through the first two games of this series. If the 'C-C-M Line' gets going for Melfort, they'll be tough to stop.

Who's on D:

Harrison Tribble showed his strengths in Game Two when he opened the scoring in the first period. Tribble can do a lot of damage if given the opportunity, and the Stars are going to have to do a better job of getting in front of his point-shots and not allowing them to find the net. When his shots find the net, they tend to go in.

Who's in Goal:

Chris Ward will be looking to bounce back after a dissapointing conclusion to Game Two. Ward played well, but not well enough to win. It was the exact same story Saturday night with North Star netminder Kyle Birch. Close, but not close enough. Ward was so strong on Saturday night, and I guess we'll see if his luck at the Civic Center continues.

X-Factor:

Todd Chinova. One assist from Chinova through two games is not good enough. Chinova is the MVP of the team, and has shown flashes of brilliance through the first two games of the series, yet hasn't been able to make his mark on a game yet. A strong outing from Chinova tonight could go a long way in getting the Mustang's a 2-1 series lead.

Who's Up Front:

Before Game Two, Ken Pearson challenged Mitch Wall to be better and he delivered. The Star's captain scored the second goal of the game on Monday and was much more of a thorn in the sides of the Mustangs. If Wall can continue to be physical and open up some more space for Josh Daley and Shay Neufeld, this line will be capable of producing lots of offence.

Who's on D:

The North Stars are still waiting for a defenceman to score a goal in the series. Jesse Lebreton and Woody Klassen are the two at the forefront when it comes to offense from the defense. A goal from either tonight could really help the Stars in their quest to grab the series lead. In the same breath though, you can't overlook the likes of Cody Folstad or Dominic Perrault to produce offense.

Who's in Goal:

Graham Hildebrand will start tonight for the Stars. This is confirmed as of 1:00 this afternoon. Hildebrand won Game Two and stopped 26 of 28 shots thrown his way.

X-Factor:

Blake Peake. Two games, no points for Blake is somewhat surprising. Yet he's had a TON of chances. Once Blake scores one, he'll score a bunch.

------------------------------------------------

Here is what the Star's lineup will look like tonight:

Peake - Filteau - Miller

Wall - Daley - Neufeld

Szucki - Tatchell - Wakelin

Oak - Tomac - Watt

Lebreton - Folstad

Klassen - Perrault

Malek - Brodbin

Scratches: Muench (Injury), Fahnhorst, Schwab, Neufeld
