Clarkie Inducted to Skaters Wall of Fame in St. Albert.

Prince George Cougars Head Coach Dean Clark received a great honour earlier this month in St. Albert. When Prince George was in St. Albert for preseason action, Clark was inducted into the St. Albert Skating Wall of Fame.

Clark played minor Hockey in St. Albert, and then spent two seasons playing for the St. Albert Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. From there, Clark went to the Kamloops Junior Oilers of the Western Hockey League, and got a taste of the NHL in 1983-84 with the Edmonton Oilers.

14-years after Clark started his hockey career in St. Albert, he returned to start his coaching career. Clark would eventually join the Western Hockey League coaching ranks, and was named the Canadian Hockey League Coach of the Year in 1998, and came within an overtime goal of winning the 1999 Memorial Cup with the Hitmen.

Clark has earned over 400 victories in the Western Hockey League and hopes to add many more to that total this season – His third in Prince George.
