Prince George Cougars goaltender Drew Owsley (1991-Lethbridge, AB) has been nominated for the CHL Goaltender of the Week Award. Owsley posted a 1-0-0-0 record this past week with a 1-0 shutout victory over the Kamloops Blazers. Owsley made 32 saves, many of which were difficult.
It was Owsley’s first regular season game as a Prince George Cougar and he was named the game’s 1st Star.
Owsley was acquired by the Cougars in August. The trade sent 19-year-old goaltender Ty Rimmer, a third-round draft pick in 2012, and a fifth-round draft pick in 2013 to the Tri City Americans.
