Moving Forward.

Good morning,

I sincerely hope that all of you enjoyed the Thanksgiving long-weekend. I spent some time in Regina, Saskatoon, the gym and on the couch over the past few days, and needless to say I'm refreshed and looking forward to the next few months leading up to Christmas.

---

Speaking of refreshed - The Battlefords North Stars earned their first victory of the season Friday night against La Ronge. They did so with heart, grit and timely offense and goaltending. North Star fans should be weary of planning a parade-route, but it was certainly fun to see the Stars play like their capable of playing.

So what now?

The Stars will take to the road for their next four games. The first of which goes tonight at the Elgar Petersen Arena against Humboldt. The Broncos are 8-1 with the best record in the SJHL, not to mention they are ranked #1 in the country by the CJHL. To say that the North Star's will be in tough is a definite understatement.

But with great challenge comes great opportunity. The Stars are positioned to make another strong statement tonight against the Broncos. If they get similar goaltending, and can stay disciplined, we're going have a real scorcher on our hands tonight! Ken Pearson said before the La Ronge game that both Humboldt and La Ronge seem to bring the best out of the Stars. We'll see what happens.

Make sure you check the blog later this afternoon for a preview of tonight's game. The bus leaves at around 2:30 PM so I'll have it posted before then.

A quick update regarding the injury to Brett Miller:

I spoke with Brett after Saturday's game, and he says he's hoping to play tonight. I should have an update for you about his status after 10:00 this morning.

---

That's all for now. Enjoy your Tuesday and I hope you can catch the broadcast tonight. The Sask-Tel Pregame Show starts at 7:15.
