Dan, numbers don't lie Hildy tops Birch in all catagories including winning percentage.
I guess if he was from winnipeg it might make a difference.

*** I preface this response by first saying that Graham Hildebrand is awesome. I consider him to be one of the best goalies in the league, and I would not flinch in the least if he gets the call in Game One of the Playoffs. Lord knows he deserves a look because of his numbers. ***

The only problem with your Winnipeg theory is the fact that our head-coach and GM isn't from Winnipeg. Manitoba? Yes. Winnipeg? No.

While numbers may not lie, they don't tell all of the story either. It's undeniable that Hildebrand has better numbers. But at the end of the day, it's the wins that count and Kyle has his share of those too.

Previous playoff success could also be a factor. Birchie's numbers were worst last year, and I don't think anybody was complaining when he was stone-walling the Nipawin Hawks and Humboldt Broncos.

Mark my words Dan:

Both goaltenders will get their chance during the playoffs at some stage. Both are going to be key cogs in the wheel moving forward.

Whoever does get the call, I hope they can do to Chinova and Hietela what they did to Ottman and Dyck last year against Nipawin.
