Fishing Derby Recap..(With Photos)

The 14th Annual Jackfish Lake Ice Fishing Derby was a tremendous success.

The weather was stellar, and so was the event's attendance. Over 2300 North Star supporters showed up to fish, and some fantastic prizes were handed out.

Danny Trulong of Saskatoon caught the biggest fish which weighed in at 5.15 pounds. He went home with a gorgeous boat courtesy of Princecraft. (PRINCECRAFT Pro 164SS with 75 HP Mercury 4 Stroke Motor & Trailer)



Mike Bertness of the Battlefords took home 2nd prize, and Dale Cholowsky won third.
Both took home boats and trailers courtesy of Princecraft.





The Battlefords North Star players did an outstanding job with 50/50 sales. The 50/50 jackpot ended up being around $7300.

All proceeds from the event go directly back to the North Star's organization. The Battlefords North Stars would like to recognize each and every participant and sponsor in the 14th Annual Jackfish Lake Ice Fishing Derby. People came from all over to take part in the Derby, and you're financial contributions towards the North Star's organization is very much appreciated.

Photo Note: I had what I thought was a great photo from above the lake of the entire crowd, but the camera I was using had auto-focus, and all three attempts were too blurry to use. I'm really bummed out, because unfortunately the photo above is the 'next best thing' to capturing how vast the crowd actually was. I apologize for the let-down.
