Graf Dealt to Dauphin...

Here are the details:

Battlefords North Stars coach/GM Ken Pearson has announced this morning that F - Colton Graf (90) has been traded to the Dauphin Kings (MJHL) in exchange for D - Koltyn Miller (91).

Pearson also sent F - Skyler Dunser (91) to the Nipawin Hawks in exchange for Future Considerations.

--------------------------------------

Graf was the second leading scorer for the North Star's last season, and has long been considered a 'real talent' in the SJHL. The problem is - and I don't think I'm alone in thinking this:

Colton Graf was streaky.

There were games last year when Graf was on fire. He was winning faceoffs, he was back checking, and he was scoring goals. Other nights? Well.. I think you know the story.

The bottom line here is that Graf is going to a great organization in Dauphin, and one that has an opportunity to host the Royal Bank Cup this year. I've said it before, and I've even said it to him personally:

If he just puts his head down and plays - He'll be incredibly tough to stop.

---------------------------------------------------------

Best of luck to Skyler Dunser as he heads to Nipawin. If put with the right players, I have no doubt that he can also find success at this level.

---------------------------------------------------------

Check out the new blog poll. I'm very curious to know your answers.

Only one more sleep until hockey officially starts? Does it get any better. I hope you're listening tomorrow night!

Birch's playoff performance alone should make him the 1a going into the season. Not a lot of space between 1a and 1b with those 2 though.
