The Battlefords North Stars are en route to Humboldt as I type this, and I can tell you with certainty that the following trades have taken place:
The Stars trade: F-Alex Leclerc (89) and D-Dusty Iron to the Nipawin Hawks for D-Cody Folstad (90) and D- Jordan Swenson (93).
Then...
The Stars acquired F- Shay Neufeld feom the Camrose Codiaks for future considerations.
Folstad could join the team as early as tonight (but won't play) and Neufeld tomorrow. Swenson will play for the PA Mintos this year.
The coaching staff told me that it was a tough morning. Alex Leclerc was a key contributor to last year's team, and was a great teammate; but the team needed to bolster the blue line, and this gave them their best opportunity to do so.
