For the first time since I've lived in the Battlefords, the North Stars won a regular season game at the Elgar Peterson Arena.
Tonight the Stars beat the Humboldt Broncos 5-4 and earned their first road victory of the season.
The Stars never trailed in this game. Brett Miller (2), Josh Daley, Shay Neufeld, and Mitch Wall scored for the Stars.
Spencer Braaten (2), Griffin Lacey, and Cam Gibson responded for Humboldt.
Tonight's game featured the return of both Dominic Perrault and Woody Klassen, and the Stars didn't miss a beat. Woody and 'Dom' were two of the best tonight, and both were able to contribute at both ends of the ice.
Game highlights included:
- A breakaway stop by Kyle Birch on Griffin Lacey midway through the third period that saved the game for the Stars.
- A great third period by the Stars where everybody ;sacked up' and made big plays.
- Josh Daley's "no-look" pass to Shay Neufeld was a thing of beauty.
- Mitch Wall, Brett Miller and Ryan Anderson dominating the play almost every single shift.
-----------
Don't plan the parade just yet, but this game was a sign of things to come for your Stars.
I hope you enjoyed listening as much as I enjoyed calling the action.
See you Friday.
