Stars D Gets a Major Boost!

Woody Klassen and Dominic Perrault are coming back to the Battlefords.

North Star's Coach Ken Pearson announced tonight that both 'Dom' and Woody will be back, and will hopefully be able to suit up for the North Stars on Wednesday night in Humboldt.

Klassen and Perrault are both 18-years-old and both have the talent and capabilities to make an impact on the team.

Klassen was let go by the Saskatoon Blades while Dominic comes to us via the Regina Pats. Both fell victim to a numbers game, and were not given the playing time that both will receive when they get here.

Both are physical, both can move the puck, and both should be able to contribute offensively.

However the readdition of these two creates quite a log-jam on defence. Here is what we're dealing with now:

*Each player has their age and their hand beside them

Lebreton (L - 20 ) - Folstad (19 - R)

Malek (L - 20) - Brodbin (R - 20)

Perrault (L - 18) - Klassen (L - 18)

Cameron (L - 18) - Spiess (R - 18)

Wourms (L - 19)

There is no chance that this team keeps nine defencemen in the fold, so we can realistically expect more changes to take place sooner than later. As it stands right now, with nine defenceman, 14 forwards, and two goalies - The Stars are sitting right at the 25 player maximum.

Good news eh?

I think you lose Cameron and Worums and keep Speiss as the 7th defenseman. If you need scoring later on trade a lebreton or a Malek for a top 3 forward. Just my thoughts.
